Our Core Privacy Commitments

No Ads or Data Selling: We never sell, rent, or trade your personal or spending data with advertisers.
Contact Privacy: Contacts are accessed solely when you choose to find and invite friends to shared bills.
Bank-Grade Encryption: All data in transit uses TLS 1.3 (HTTPS) and encryption at rest.
Right to Erasure: Permanent, complete account deletion is built right into the mobile app and available on demand.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Splityvitty, an expense splitting and personal budgeting application developed and operated by Amveer Technologies (“we”, “our”, or “us”). We are committed to safeguarding the privacy and confidential personal data of our users (“you” or “user”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application (available on Google Play Store) and our web services.

2. Information We Collect

A. Personal Identity Data: When registering, you provide your name, email address, optional phone number, and password (or Google OAuth profile data if signing in with Google).

B. Expense & Financial Details: Splityvitty records bill titles, purchase dates, amounts, expense categories, split shares among group members, and optionally your personal UPI ID (Virtual Payment Address) to enable seamless UPI settlement deep-linking. We never store credit/debit card numbers, CVVs, net banking passwords, or UPI MPINs.

C. Device & Usage Information: We may collect standard technical identifiers including device model, operating system version, app version, and IP addresses strictly for crash diagnostic logging, security auditing, and push notification delivery.

3. Device Contacts Disclosure (READ_CONTACTS)

We respect your social network and phone privacy. Please carefully review how and why Splityvitty interacts with your device contacts:

  • Purpose of Access: When you tap “Choose from Contacts” in the app to invite a friend to an expense group or monthly settlement ledger, the app requests temporary access to read phone numbers and names from your address book.
  • Explicit Consent: We only access your device contacts after you explicitly grant system permission via the Android runtime permission dialog.
  • No Continuous Background Harvesting: We do NOT continuously download, sync, or upload your entire phonebook in the background.
  • Zero Commercialization: We never share, sell, or disclose your contacts to any third-party marketing services, data brokers, or advertisement networks.

4. Camera & Photo Library Access

The app may request access to your device camera and image library when you use the following optional features:

  • Receipt OCR Scanning: To capture receipt photos so our AI scanner can automatically extract line items and split totals.
  • Profile Avatar: To upload a custom profile picture.

Uploaded receipt images are processed solely for the purpose of bill digitization and group record-keeping.

5. Data Security & Storage

We implement industry-standard security safeguards to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction:

  • TLS 1.3 cryptographic encryption for all client-server communications over HTTPS.
  • Bcrypt and Argon2 password hashing algorithms.
  • Expiring Sanctum bearer tokens with granular device session revocation.
  • Restricted database access firewalled in secure cloud data centers.

6. Account & Personal Data Deletion

In compliance with Google Play Developer Policies and data protection regulations, you have the full right to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

How to Delete Your Account from the App:

  1. Open the Splityvitty mobile app.
  2. Tap the Profile tab in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Scroll to the bottom of the Profile screen.
  4. Tap “Delete Account & Data”.
  5. Confirm deletion by typing DELETE (for Google OAuth users) or entering your password.

Web / Email Deletion Request: If you are unable to access the mobile app, you can submit a deletion request by sending an email from your registered email address to support@amveertechnologies.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request”. We will permanently delete your account within 48 business hours.

Data Retention Notice: Upon deletion, your user profile, avatar, credentials, push notification tokens, and session records are wiped immediately. Existing shared group transaction ledgers will preserve historical expense amounts and line items to ensure accounting consistency for other group members.

7. Children’s Privacy

Splityvitty is not intended for individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 18 years of age.
